Eligibility ?

The Canadian Express Entry is an online points-based application system.
It is used by the department of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada to select skilled candidates for Canadian PR.

There are 3 categories

  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class

PNP is usually submitted thought Express Entry, For this Applicant – should be eligible though three economic programs for Express Entry pool.

Eligible applicant will need to submit Expression of Intrest which is also know as EOI or Express Entry Profile. Once submmited the evaluation is done though Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Eligible applicant are added into the Express Entry pool and ranked against each other.

An applicant’s profile remains in the pool for 12 months.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts Express Entry draws regularly mostly biweekly.

They select applicants with highest points in the pool and invite them to submit an application for Canadian Permanent Residency.
This invite is called Invitation to Apply (ITA).

If the applicants receives an ITA, they are required to complete and submit their application within 90 days of ITA and if failed to submit the application the ITA is invalidated and the profile returns to the pool.

Provincial Nominee Programs

There are also some Provincial Nominee Programs within Express Entry.

Apart from the Federal Immigration Streams offered by IRCC, every province in Canada also has its own immigration programs where they nominate qualified candidates to apply for PR through their provincial programs. The candidates need to make separate applications to the province to be considered under these streams. This process is fairly lengthy and complex.
